en عمومى General پژوهشي Research <span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;"><span style="line-height:normal"><b>Purpose:</b> The present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy on reducing rumination and increasing self-esteem in hospitalized cardiac patients.</span><br> <span style="line-height:normal"><b>Method:</b> The present study is a semi-experimental pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population includes cardiac patients hospitalized in hospitals in Miandoab city, who agreed to participate in the study. Of these, 30 people were selected using a convenience method and randomly assigned to two groups (15 people in the experimental group and 15 people in the control group). The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Questionnaire and the Nolen-Hoeksema & Morrow (1991) Rumination Scale were used to collect data. Cognitive behavioral therapy was administered by the researcher in 8 sessions for 4 weeks, two sessions per week, each session lasting 60 minutes, for the experimental group. The control group did not receive any intervention during this period. The results of the experiments were calculated using SPSS software.</span><br> <span style="line-height:normal"><b>Findings:</b> The results of the study show that cognitive behavioral therapy has an effect on the self-esteem of hospitalized cardiac patients and significantly improves it.
