Purpose: The present study aimed to investigate burnout and its effect on the quality of romantic relationships among treatment staff.
Method: The research method is applied in terms of purpose and is descriptive-survey in terms of nature and research method. The statistical population of this study includes medical staff members working in teaching and private hospitals in Kashan in 2025 who are in a romantic relationship (marriage or stable emotional relationship). Data collection in this study was done through the Meslach Burnout Questionnaire (1981) and the Kondy et al. (2016) Interaction Quality Questionnaire. Data analysis was also done through descriptive and inferential statistics.
Results: The findings of the study indicate that burnout subscales including emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, sense of personal efficacy, and conflict play a significant role in the quality of romantic relationships among treatment staff. Emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and conflict decrease, and a sense of personal adequacy improves the quality of romantic relationships in treatment staff.
Conclusion: Occupational and emotional mental health of treatment staff are two inseparable dimensions, and simultaneous attention to both areas is necessary to maintain their job performance and personal satisfaction.
